RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. BEHAVIOR

>> Students are expected to attend college neatly dressed keeping with the approved etiquette.
>>

Women students shall attend college wearing sarees or in traditional Salwar Kameez.They shall not come to college in any other dress.

>>

Students should bring their I.D. cards everyday. I.D. cards should be produced when demanded.

>>

Any requisition or letter written by the student to the Principal should be sent through the HOD / Class Teacher.

>> In case of cancellation of a class, students shall be in the library.
>> Students should not sit on the parapet walls on the steps and on the staircases.
>>

Students are forbidden from writing, scribbling, or painting on the walls, desks, black boards etc.,

>>

Students found guilty of damaging, destroying college property should replace the same at their own cost.

>> Smoking is prohibited on the campus.
>> Eve-teasers will be dismissed from the college.
>> Ragging is an offence. Any student found guilty of ragging will be dismissed from the college.
>> Students found using drugs or liquour will be dismissed from the college.
>> Students should refrain from participating in political or communal activities.
>>

Students found guilty of using foul language or behaving rudely towards the staff members, will be expelled from the college.

>>

Students must identify those who cause damage to the college property and report the same to the Principal

   
2. Ragging and its consequences

According to Act No. 7 of 1997 of the Tamilnadu prohibition of Ragging Act, Ragging in educational institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu, is prohibited.

 
According to this Act, ‘Ragging’ means display of noisy, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raise apprehension or fear, shame or embarassement to a student in any educational institution and includes;
a) tearing, abusing or playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to such student  or
b) asking the student to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course willingly do.
   
Any student convicted of an offence under ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution and such students shall not be admitted in any other educational institution.
 
3. Attendance and Leave Rules
1.

Students who fail to secure 75% attendance in classes and in physical training, will not be allowed to appear for the University examination.

2. The college insists on regular attendance of students. Attendance is marked each period including practical and physical training classes. A student who is absent from any one or more of the first three periods loses half a day attendance. A student who is absent from any one or more of the last two periods loses half a day attendance.
3. A student will have his name struck off the rolls if he continuously absents himself for  fifteen days or more without satisfactory reasons.
4. If a student is reported to be sick continuously for more than a week a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner should be submitted in the office.
5. Absentees without leave letter shall be fined at the discretion of the Principal. Absconders from classes and habitual absentees shall be dealt with severely. The punishment may involve suspension or removal from the college.
